The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of a water-based extraction of Hydrastis canadensis on the in vitro growth of Candida albicans and Escheria coli, to a control of distilled water in terms of the size of the zones of inhibition in the disc diffusion assay and turbidity of growth in the tube dilution method. These results were compared to the results obtained from similar experiments using an ethanol-based tinctures of Hydrastis canadensis.en_US
